So, as you probably already know, my new album, Disconnect, is currently available as a limited edition unmastered advance release.  I made 100 numbered copies which I’ve been selling in decending order.  Well, I sold number 51 of 100 at the Saint on Tuesday.  You know what that means?  Only 50 left to go!  Woo-hoo!

You can still pick up these super-schnazzy cards at my online store and at shows, as well as buying/downloading the album (without the limited edition cards) for, come to think of it, more than the price of the card, on my music page.

However, I tell you this now, once they are gone, THEY ARE GONE!  When the next batch of the mastered for-reals release comes out, the artwork will be different and this limited edition card will be worth a BAZILLION dollars on ebay (for serious…bazillion).

In other news, I’m playing the Twisted Tree Cafe tonight.  You’re coming.

Loved it.  Indie Music Night was WONDERFUL.  ALL of the artists were terrific.  I could go on, but you’re just going to have to make it a point to check out this best-kept-secret of the local music scene.  I also played a few open mics last night, and that was good, too.

I’m at the Saint on Tuesday, with Cook & The Usual Suspects, Janey Todd, Panda Watch, George Wirth, JC Smith and more.  Then I’m at the Twisted Tree Cafe on Friday, with MOLE, Sonni Shine, Darrin Bradbury and Rick Warren.  I’m so happy/lucky to be playing with such talented people.

I’ll probably find myself doing the New Brunswick thing tonight, and I’m waiting on an e-mail Wednesday or so, which should give me the material to complete my new “You” section of EricGinsberg.com.

Every month, the oh-so-fabulous Sarah Donner hosts my FAVORITE monthly music series, Indie Music Night.

THIS Saturday, Indie Music Night features:
Eric Ginsberg (that’s me)
Sarah Donner (w/ new album)
Matt Diff (AWESOME!)
Richard Thorne (as yet unknown to me)
Elise Brianne (if Sarah booked her, she’s good)

So, 6PM, THIS Saturday, you come to Princeton/Kendall Park/Griggstown (just out of North Brunswick) area for the free-est, quaintest, most dependably awesome, most best-est monthly music series of (going out on a limb here) all time.

Go to Indie Music Night ’s website for directions.

This series is a labor of musical and communal love by Sarah Donner and her crack team of musical henchmen (can we call them “henchmen”? I’m gonna call them “henchmen”), so please spread the word by reposting this.

I’ve created and published 4 out of the 6 pages of the new EricGinsberg “You” section.  It should be up by next week.  I’m waiting on a few things.  Wanna help?

More photos (you’ve got photos of me playing, or making an ass of myself off stage…e-mail them to me)

Artwork (if you’ve created any sort of original artwork related to me or one of my songs, e-mail it to me)

Audio (have you bootlegged my performance or covered, remixed or mashed-up one of my songs? e-mail it to me)

I’ve got a busy spell coming back on me.  Saturday will find me in Princeton, for the oh-so-fabulous Indie Music Night, then Tuesday brings me to The Saint, in Asbury Park, followed by another Asbury Park show, this time at the Twisted Tree Cafe on Friday night.  Check the sidebar over yonder for details.

I’m taking two weeks off from heavy playing, and using the time to work on EricGinsberg.com.  I’ve been typing my little fingers off for the last three hours.  Here’s what I’ve accomplished:

Almost finished the Music page (fixed all broken links & created all the song pages but one).  I expect to get a good recording of Indie Music Night (June 23rd…see sidebar for details) and will post a better version of “Maybe Means No”, and will finally put up “Last Night (In Your Bed)” and “Time Apart”.  Once those are up, I’ll be able to finish the “Buy All” button in the bottom group, and the “Buy All” button at the top of the page.

I went through each song page and added performance credits for all of the awesome musicians who performed on my two albums.  Eventually, I may turn their names into links if they have websites, but it’s a start for now.

I’ve readied all of the pages for the new You section (not yet posted), and now anxiously await submissions of your photos, videos, original artwork and audio recordings (see below post for more details).  I’m also hard at work on finishing up my part for the final page of the You section, so that I can give it to you, then you can give it to me, then I’ll post it in You.  Confusing, I know.

So, since my website it generally a rip-off of JonathanCoulton.com, I’ve known since I launched that I wanted to create a “You” section.  “What is it?” you may ask.  Why, it’s content contributed by…duh…YOU!  There’ll be space for photos you’ve taken, videos you’ve created, audio you’ve recorded, and even original artwork you’ve designed.  I’m working on it right now, but it’s gonna be schnazzy.  So, in the meantime, you can submit your content to me so that I can design templates and get the section live.

In other news, it’s been 25 performances in the last 25 days.  I’m taking tonight off.  I’ve earned it.

The Jam for Sudan was yesterday.  Amanda Duncan, Sarah Donner, Sonuva! and I all played, as well as some bands whose names I can’t remember.  It was a fundraiser for Doctors Without Borders.  I had a great time.  A few folks came out to see me, and I few folks I knew came out, just in general.  I’ll find out if they recorded the show, and if they did, and any of it came out well, I’ll post it here.

I’ve got a few weeks off from gigs (which is nice, since I’ve played 22 times in the last 22 days), but I’ll still be Open Micing around the area (Mondays in New Brunswick, Sundays in Red Bank…we’ll see if I make it out anywhere else).  However, when I return, it’s back to Princeton (maybe it’s technically Griggstown, and maybe it’s closer to Kendall Park) for Indie Music Night, with Sarah Donner and more!  Check my Shows section, or my sidebar, for the info.

In other news, there are only 56 copies remaining of my new album’s limited advance release.  Grab them while you can.  You can pick them up at shows and/or order them through my Store.

Had a BLAST tonight!  For some reason, I always seem to dread these things walking in, and by the time 10 o’clock hits, I’m like, “Really?  I’m done already?  I have to stop playing now?”  It’s kind of like summer camp.

I made new friends from Old Bridge who hung out for the first stint of the night, and really got me into it from the get-go, and I saw a bunch of friends from the Red Bank Music Community, and more (Jon Bon Jovi came by and told me I was doing a good job).  It was nice to see so many people come out.  It was also nice to play on such a great night!  I mean, Jazz & Blues Festival was going on AND the weather was sublime.

Mucho thanks to Don Lee and Joe Cullity for lending me the equipment, RiverCenter for booking me, and Red Ginger Home for being a) such great guys and b) such hospitable hosts.  Also had a great time with everyone afterwards: munster cheese is yummy.

Tomorrow (Sunday), I’m off to the Pride Parade, in Asbury Park, then Twisted Tree Cafe’s Open Mic and the RBMC’s Open Mic at the Internet Cafe (it’s Majnun’s last night as our host, so be sure to come see him off right).

I played Connie’s 1-year anniversary last night.  The place has been around forever, but the open mic there, hosted by AJ Stone, just hit a year.  He invited some great performers to come celebrate, like Don Lee, Sarah Forney, the WMDs and yours truly.  To be quite honest, the place sucks.  I mean, it’s got A/C and it’s clean, but it’s got posters of Michael Bolton, the Sopranos, and Jon Bon Jovi (circa 1995).  Michael fucking Bolton!  Well, AJ Stone is a good time, so I’ll leave it at that.

Which brings me to my next topic: Jazz & Blues Festival in Red Bank!  Woo-hoo!  Check out my weekend:

Friday: Jazz & Blues ’til 6:30, hitting the last Sudsy Mug open mic (hosted by my buddy, Cook) ’til about 8pm, then going to see Nicole Atkins and Jesse Malin at the Stone Pony (thank you 90.5 The Night, for the free tickets)

Saturday: Jazz & Blues ’til 6pm, then I’m setting up to perform on Monmouth St., as part of RiverCenter’s StreetLife, from 7-10.  I’ll be stationed at 65 Monmouth St., so come check me out.  I’ll also be taking 2 20-minute breaks, one of which will be used to check out The Key To Our Secret, at the Internet Cafe.

Sunday: Jazz & Blues ’til 3pm, then I’m off to the Twisted Tree Cafe open mic (hosted by the oh-so-awesome Shelly Arden), and then back to Red Bank for Majnun’s last week hosting the RBMC’s open mic at the Internet Cafe (we’re gonna send him off right).

So, in summation, I’m going to perform 4 times and watch maybe 2-3 dozen other performances this weekend.  While we can’t have the Wave Gathering every weekend, it doesn’t mean that I can’t cram in as much music as possible.
