The Jam for Sudan was yesterday.  Amanda Duncan, Sarah Donner, Sonuva! and I all played, as well as some bands whose names I can’t remember.  It was a fundraiser for Doctors Without Borders.  I had a great time.  A few folks came out to see me, and I few folks I knew came out, just in general.  I’ll find out if they recorded the show, and if they did, and any of it came out well, I’ll post it here.

I’ve got a few weeks off from gigs (which is nice, since I’ve played 22 times in the last 22 days), but I’ll still be Open Micing around the area (Mondays in New Brunswick, Sundays in Red Bank…we’ll see if I make it out anywhere else).  However, when I return, it’s back to Princeton (maybe it’s technically Griggstown, and maybe it’s closer to Kendall Park) for Indie Music Night, with Sarah Donner and more!  Check my Shows section, or my sidebar, for the info.

In other news, there are only 56 copies remaining of my new album’s limited advance release.  Grab them while you can.  You can pick them up at shows and/or order them through my Store.

I just wanted to thank you for supporting this cause. It means a lot to us to have you bring all your fans and help stop the genocide. I love the music. Sarah and I can not get it out of our heads. We realized it’s bad to sing “I’m drunk as hell, now” in church so we whispered it.

My pleasure. Always glad to help Doctors Without Borders. I’ve got a song called, “War Of Terror”, that addresses what’s going on in Africa, but I’ve never played it live, ’cause it’s more of a full band song, and it doesn’t fit well into the rest of my set. The song is about the B.S. war, and the lyrics to the last verse are:

    Diamond mines and genocide
    The spirit of apartheid
    Ten percent of a continent
with AIDS and we just let ‘em die.
    Botswana, Rwanda, Ethiopia and Sudan
Who gives a damn about murder of Africans?
Amerca can turn the other cheak
    and focus on our ruse:
    that we care about oppression
if it makes the evening news.

    Someday someone might hear it.
