My EG logo (designed by Chris Vlahov) is bangin’, and I love it. It has taught me the importance of branding/having a logo. So now that I’ve got a band, I suppose that means I’ll need an “Eric Ginsberg & The New Originals” logo. I know I’ve got a lot of artist friends, so I’m interested to see what y’all come up with.

Terms of the contest:
1. Make a logo that reads “Eric Ginsberg & The New Originals” or “Eric Ginsberg and The New Originals”. (I’m partial to “Eric Ginsberg” being big on the top, “&/and” being little and centered beneath that, and “The New Originals” being just as wide as the “Eric Ginsberg” at the bottom…but if you’ve got other ideas, I wanna see them)
2. E-mail as many submissions as you want to ericginsberg at ericginsberg dot com.
3. You may incorporate the existing “EG” logo if you want (I have no preference thus far), but any winning entry that does so will share a credit and any subsequent “winnings” with the original artist.
4. Feel free to send me works in progress for feedback so you don’t spend forever making something that I generally hate.
5. Final submissions due no later than March 15th (two months from today). 300 dpi print-ready image a MUST (though also sending me a web-friendly jpg would be appreciated)
6. All final submissions (and abandoned sketches, with permission) will be posted in the Artwork section of the You page here at EricGinsberg.com, as well as posted on a rolling basis right here on the main page for open feedback.
7. The winner (inevitably and subjectively decided by me) gets to see their logo used on all of my full-band promo materials and merchandise. We’ll work something out whereby if the logo is used on anything that makes any sort of serious money, you’ll get a part of it.
8. Winner will be announced on March 31st.

Now get drawing!

It’s official. Eric Ginsberg & The New Originals. I’m frickin’ AMPED! We’ll be practicing for the winter. I’ll start showing up places solo in March, and start doing acoustic shows where the other fabulous singer/songwriters in the band (David DiGioia and Michael Ambrose) and I will each take our own solo sets with some minimal degree of accompaniment from our other members (Graham Schumann and Darryll Meter) around the same time.

The full band will debut in mid-May. WOO-HOO! “How,” you may ask yourself, “will this band differ from the one I saw open for Peter Searcy, at The Saint, back in September?” That was a relatively one-time thing with Mike Shearer (head awesome guy of SemiPop) on drums. This is a full-time band, with a name, a new drummer and a keyboardist. Life is good.
